Self-confidence is something I have struggled with over the past little while. I've fought with myself; my mind screaming false and demeaning accusations about my image, character and weaknesses. I've become a harsh critic; not fully realizing the effect it's had on my mind and body. It's a problem. A world wide problem. One that could lead to anxiety, depression and even in some cases, death.


I think this picture is a good depiction of courage. Through this blog I want to help myself and you, us, gain more courage and self-confidence by making a quick 5 second decision to create a moment that will help us gain our confidence and recognize the strengths that we do have.

I'm posting again this week because I'm going on vacation and wont have access to the internet next week! It's going to be quite a small post. I was reading the General Conference talk by President Monson callled  Be Strong and of a Good Courage . Pres. Monson gives great examples of courage and how we might build our courage. I was seeing the Physical Therapist this week and I was about to do that electrical stimulation on my hip. I remembered to ask the Physical Therapist's assistant about a piece of stitching that was coming out of the incision point on my hip. She said she would go get some tweezers and pull it out if I'd like her too. I felt like such a baby and I almost said no but I felt brave for just 2 seconds and told her we'd better do it now or never. It turns out she didn't pull it she just trimmed it down a little. I read a story in the news about an incredible stunt-woman. She was "fearless". Or so she thought. She thought that by suppressing her fear she would be more successful. But by suppressing her fear she, over time, developed some medical conditions. She somehow traced it back to suppressing her fear and wrote a book called, "The Art of Fear:Why conquering fear wont work and what to do instead." She says,"It's not fear that causes problems ...
